Emberfall Saga
★★★★★ 4.6
Emberfall Saga leans hard into its story, and that's a good thing. You build a small party, pick up companions with actual personalities, and work through a branching campaign that remembers your choices. The turn-based combat is deeper than it first looks, with elemental weaknesses and positioning that reward planning over button-mashing.
The gear and skill systems are generous without being overwhelming. You can respec cheaply, so experimenting with builds never feels punishing. I spent a happy evening turning my healer into a surprisingly nasty debuffer.
My one gripe is the early pacing, which front-loads a lot of tutorial text. Push past the first hour and the world opens up nicely, with side quests that are worth the detour.

- Choices that actually shape the story
- Flexible builds with cheap respecs
